Singing astronaut is over the moon at book launch.
The former International Space Station commander, Chris Hadfield, received an honorary patronage from Trinity College Dublin at a reception before Christmas. However, it was not the only thing he was 'over the moon' about while he was in Dublin to promote his new book, "You Are Here - Around the World in 92 Minutes".
The former astronaut was delighted to be presented with a gift of a limited edition print of the moon by Dublin artist Frank O'Dea at the book signing in Dubray Book Shop in Grafton Street.
O'Dea, who runs Balla Bán Art Gallery in Dublin's Westbury Mall, was thrilled to receive a message from Chris via Twitter after he posted a picture of a watercolour portrait of the astronaut by Dublin artist, Pervaneh Matthews. Hadfield tweeted to his 1.2 million followers: "I very much look forward to being back in Dublin. That portrait looks amazing - I hope to see it while there."
O'Dea expalined: "I closed up the gallery and dropped over to Dubray Bookshop to show him the painting in real life. Unfortunately we are currently sold out of portraits of him but we have more on order and will post one out to him when we get them. However, as a big fan of astronomy myself and of Chris Hadfield, I was delighted to present him with one of my own lunar artworks which he was chuffed about".
