Barry Leighton Jones "In the Spotlight"
Mini lithographic print 20x15cm.
These are high quality mini prints of oil paintings done by the late World Famous Artist Barry Leighton Jones for the Emmett Kelly Circus Collection in 1988 - 1992. Printed by Stanton Arts.
"In the Spotlight" was painted in 1986 and shows "Weary Willie" with his most familiar prop - a broom. He used it in what was perhaps the most famous part of his act - trying, and failing, time after time to sweep away a circle of light cast by an overhead spot. This brilliant bit of clowning was considered one of the most laughable and perfectly timed routines.
