It is one of the most famous pictures in history - the Earth Rise photo taken on the Apollo 8th Mission. And now, 42 years later, artist Frank O'Dea has re-captured the image in an oil painting.
The Dublin based artist has produces 35 limited edition giclee prints of his painting, which should be snapped up by space enthusiasts. Frank recently presented one of the coveted prints to business tycoon Bill Cullen to wish him well las the first Irishman to travel into space on the Virgin Galactic.
Frank said: "Bill told me that he loves the picture and said to me that Branson is on the final furlong to Virgin Galactic takeoff".
